Reaching out for mental health support can be a daunting task. We work with Journey 2 Freedom Counselling and Mileah Raddochia, MSW, RSW, to help connect you with options for mental health counsellors. Carrie Mazzei, RP, and Sareen Cagliuzun, RSW, together have over 18 years of experience working with children, youth, and families as well as adults struggling with social and emotional challenges. They currently work at one of the leading children’s mental health agencies in York Region providing social and emotional support both in home, as well as in the community.
Through her own journey of learning and healing, Mileah has learned about gratitude, self-compassion and the power of connection, and has incorporated in her own daily life as well as her practice with clients. As an individual and youth therapist, having worked with a range of ages and challenges, she has learned that it is the power of compassion and connection that has the power to heal and enrich our lives.
Infrared therapy is a form of heat therapy, using wavelengths of light to heat the body directly. The Sauna has higher temperature but lower relative humidity, allowing more benefit to the body with least amount of risk. The heat therapy gets absorbed into the skin rather than air -promoting a natural warmth & relaxation without the steam. This also helps for optimal detoxification processes through heat and sweating.
The main difference between the Infrared Sauna & Sauna Blanket is that the blanket offers far infrared rays (deeper detoxification process & more targeted with a blanket) & the Infrared Sauna room offers full spectrum rays which has far rays & near rays (topical & more shallow effects).
This session are for those who have not used our facilities before. You will be guided on how to use the blanket & what to expect. You will be given your own Dry Brush. Complimentary Detox Tonic & Electrolyte drink will be provided for during your session.

This treatment includes a 30 minute Recharge & Detox IV session, Our Detox Tonic & 30 minutes of Infrared Sauna Blanket Therapy Session. This is for patients who have already done an IV & Detox assessment with a Naturopathic Doctor
More than likely! However because of the lower humidity, your sweat should be less. You also may need to increase the frequency of sessions to promote a sweat. If you’re detoxification pathways are blocked, it may take a few sessions. Ultimately there will be less sweat than a steam sauna, less risk of dehydration and better receovery for your muscles & cells.
It could take up to an hour to cool off. This is normal and is part of your body returning to its regular body temperature.
We recommend using a infrared sauna blanket after a workout to kickstart repair & recovery from a workout! It will help with lactic acid & other wastes, helping your body feel better! Heat helps your muslces relax and blood vesseles dilate, enhancing delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the areas for a faster recovery.
Infrared heat therapy penetrates deep to your core. The rise in your core temperature promotes sweating & increase in blood flow and heart rate, boosting your metabolism. The benefits of infrared heat therapy also help you feel better to enhance ecxercise & recovery.
There are no major risks associated with sweating for individuals with average health. If you are worried, please consult your doctor before booking a sauna blanket session.
We do not recommend Sauna therapy during pregnancy. If you have history of cardiovascular disease, chronic health concerns, surgery, injury, medication (especially blood thinners), pacemakers, we recommend checking with your doctor before booking a session. We ask that new clinets book an initial appointment to be assessed & guided properly into Infrared therapy
Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna. If you have had an abdominal surgery, tummy tuck, c-section or breast augmentation, consult a physician prior to using a sauna blanket to ensure that it is approved for use.
Besides detoxification, there are alot of benefits with infrared sauna blanket sessions. The best results are seen with regular sesions, however with just one session, you will start feeling relaxed and refreshed. Best done in a comfortable position lying down so make sure to bring a yoga mat. Some extra things that can add to the experience is a small pillow, light blanket, journal and eye mask, however all you really need is yourself and an open mind. The Experience starts with some simple movement and shaking, followed by rounds of Elemental Rhythm breathing, a guided meditation and a sharing circle (sharing always optional). We invite you to participate in a free workout class with Dr. Brynne Billings, DC!
We are aiming to hold these on Wednesday evenings at either 7:15pm or 7:30pm. Classes will be approximately 40-45 minutes in length and each week will focus on a different area of the body. The structure of the class will be mainly resistance/strength training followed by a cool down/mobility session. The exercises can either be completed with body weight alone or using a Theraband/resistance band or light weights.
We ask you to bring your own resistance bands/light dumbbells and yoga mat to each class. We have some at the clinic but it is first come first served. We will be selling Therabands for $8.00 which can be used for most exercises! The class sizes will be capped at 4 people to ensure physical distancing and an opportunity for Dr. Brynne to be able to work with each of you.
