Cupping Therapy

What is Cupping?

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing method that may ease back pain, neck pain, headaches and other issues. It uses suction to pull on your skin and increase blood flow to the affected area.

Suction from cupping draws fluid into the treated area. This suction force expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels (capillaries) under your skin. Your body replenishes the cupped areas with healthier blood flow and stimulates proper and normal healing at a cellular level.

Glass Cupping

Known as "fire cupping" or "reverse massage," this distinctive therapeutic technique involves the use of cups that are filled with flammable substances, such as alcohol, and set on fire. Once the fire extinguishes, the cups are promptly inverted and placed on specific areas of the body. As the air inside the cups cools down, it creates a suction effect, causing the skin to elevate and stimulating blood flow to the surface.

Pump Cupping

Cupping therapy can also be performed using plastic cups, offering a modern alternative to traditional fire cupping. During cupping using plastic cups, the cup is place on the skin and a vacuum hose is used to create suction. As the cups are released, they draw the skin and underlying tissues upward. Plastic cupping provides a gentle and controlled suction that can be adjusted based on the individual's comfort level.
