The Village Health Clinic's current protocol is as follows:

COVID-19 Patient Protocol

  • We want to kindly remind all patients of the following:
    • Everyone is required to fill out our COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire 24 hours before their scheduled appointment time, for every visit.
    • Everyone is required to wear a mask upon entering the clinic and is asked to sanitize their hands.
      • We currently sell masks at the clinic for $1.00 if needed and provide hand sanitizer as well.

With many of you following the news surrounding the Coronavirus, we want to share with you how we have been doing our part to assure the safety of our patients and clients.

The health of our community is always our first priority and although we practice our standard protocols, we are also implementing additional measures in order to minimize the spread of germs and ensure that we are a safe environment.

This includes:

  • We are offering Virtual appointments where you may schedule a phone call or video-chat appointments with our Practitioners. This will help reduce the chances of transmission of COVID-19, keep our community healthy and efforts to flatten the curve. We encourage you when possible to use this service.
  • Patients will be screened over the phone before scheduling in-person appointments.
  • Scheduling 1 patient at a time, where possible.
  • Scheduling of patients 15 minutes apart to ensure 6 feet distance for each individual.
  • Continuing and increasing the use of industry leading antibacterial/antiviral disinfectant products.
  • Increased frequency of cleaning all areas/surfaces of the clinic - this includes door handles, waiting area, treatment rooms, consult rooms, equipment, washroom facilities, front desk.
  • Providing an increased amount of sanitizer around the clinic for patient/client use.
  • Providing masks and gloves for patients/clients to use at their discretion.
  • Having clinic staff/practitioners stay home if they are experiencing signs and symptoms of illness.
  • Cancelling all group classes to decrease high traffic and close proximity at the clinic.

While we are making every effort to do our part and keep our clinic safe, we want to encourage our community to take the following measures to reduce the risk of transmission:

  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water for a minimum of 30 seconds
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Stay in isolation when possible and avoid all non-essential gatherings
  • Social & Physical distancing -  stay 6 feet (2 meters) between you and the next person
  • Get adequate rest and eat a whole food, well balanced diet
  • Use alcohol based hand sanitizer when you do not have access to a sink and soap
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth/nose with a tissue, or into your elbow or sleeve, NOT your hand
  • We kindly ask that if you are experiencing cold & flu symptoms, not feeling well, or have travelled outside of Canada, to self-isolate and refrain from coming into the clinic for 14 days.

As with many healthcare facilities, we are asking everyone to inform us before your appointment if:

  • You have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days.
  • You have a fever over 38 degrees and/or a cough, or difficulty breathing
  • Have come into close contact with a confirmed or probable case, or close contact with someone with acute respiratory illness who has travelled to an impacted area
  • Patients must call the clinic for screening before coming to the clinic

We will continue to monitor and follow the recommendations made by Ontario Public Health & Government of Ontario.

These guidelines are focused on household settings and are meant for the general public.

  • Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. Cleaning does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.
  • Disinfecting refers to using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection
